We, the members of Epic clan, want to keep a clean chat that falls in with and goes beyond Jagex rules. We want all our members to feel comfortable in our chat and for it to be a good place for us all to learn to communicate in a manner that will be of use to us in our real lives.

We have 2 basic rules:
1] keep it clean [in both language and content]
2] keep it friendly [leave your foul moods outside the log in or don't come in]

To set up the language rules, we had massive discussions and debates over four months. Tempers got so hot that some of our members left us because we chose this route rather than the bare minimum required by Jagex.

The remaining members had the integrity to admit that the new clean chat was a much friendlier place to be and that it did not take that much effort to keep it that way.

The following repost is for the benefit of people applying to join our clan. It is being reposted here in the recruitment area so that they can read it and know where they stand in regards to language in the clan chat and how we reached the decision to do this.

THE PROPOSED BANNED WORDS:

1] F--K in any way, shape or form including FFS, GTFO, OMFG, WTF, and STFU
These are offensive to many of our members, not just the leadership.

2] DAMN AND HELL
Of themselves these are not terrible but it is too hard to control bad usage if they are allowed at all

3] WTH
Too many people interpret this is "What the Hell" instead of "What the Heck"

4] CBA
I've always thought this mean can't be annoyed but since a lot of others don't we should use cbb (can't be bothered) instead.

Other banned words:

SHT, CRAP, BUTT, ASS, SUCKS
Using these words is a Jagex reportable offense and can lead to a player being muted or even banned so they are only being posted here but not included in the vote. If Jagex says NO then we say NO and you have no choice in the matter. We, all the star ranks, are not willing to have our memberships put into jepordy just so you can be offensive!
